Jason is the Executive Sponsor for the BAME at Tesco network. In this capacity he works to create a safe, supportive, confidential and connected space which colleagues can feel proud to be part of. The efforts he has undertaken to achieve this include running listening sessions to elevate diverse voices, developing new resources such as allyship guides, celebrating and raising awareness of key cultural events, and signing off new and updated internal policies. Jason has also overseen the introduction of ethnically diverse talent communities, designed to strengthen succession plans and support colleagues to realize their potential. Jason has also promoted the establishment of partnerships with specific universities, to diversify Tesco’s internship programme, which resulted in an intake of 51% ethnic minority representation in 2021, compared to 14% in 2020. Additionally, Jason has supported the launch of a range of leadership development programmes looking at race, intersectionality and privilege.
