As the Executive Sponsor for Race in Shell UK, Sinead’s focus has been three-fold. Firstly, she has placed an emphasis on listening to the voices of Shell’s employees to better understand their lived workplace realities, including setting up an all-staff ‘townhall’ to discuss the need for change both within Shell and in the wider sector. Secondly, she has taken action by working with leaders, HR and BAME employee networks to implement a 10 Point Plan covering visible leadership & role models, recruitment targets, allyship guides and new development programs for Shell’s BAME talent pool. Sinead’s third focus was on transparency, leading Shell UK in voluntarily reporting their Ethnicity Pay Gap for the first time in 2020, as one of the first in the industry to do so. Sinead is also a founding member of the Energy Leaders Coalition, a group set up to collaborate across the Energy sector to achieve better diversity.
