Tunji Akintokun MBE

In the wake of the murder of George Floyd last year, Tunji and 2 colleagues held a livecast with the chairman of PwC to talk about Black Lives Matter, their lived experiences as Black leaders, and what changes they would like to see. This was watched by almost all of PwC’s 22,000 employees and had a profound effect on attitudes towards systemic and structural racism in the workplace and in society. Being one of PwC’s ‘ColourBrave Champions’, Tunji leads a group of 23 ‘ColourBrave Advocates’ within his function, supporting the firm’s ‘Everyday Inclusion’ agenda around ethnic diversity. The group provides a support platform for staff to discuss race, and hosts events to inform, celebrate and embrace inclusive culture. Additionally, as the founder of Ilesha Charitable Trust, Tunji has helped provide financial support to 100 Black Men of London, The Sickle Cell Society, and the Black Cultural Archives among others.
